Remember Who You Are: The Gift and Mission of the Human Person

Do you feel prepared to respond to the difficult questions of today regarding the what and why of Catholic Church teaching about gender and sexuality?  Children and youth are often very confused today about their identity as a child of God.  This session, led by Fr. Andy LaFramboise, will set a foundation on which to build better responses when asked to explain what the Church teaches about these topics.  It will explore themes related to Christian anthropology - the understanding of the human person in light of God's revelation in Christ.  With the principles of St. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body, we will examine the nature of the human person through creation, fall, and redemption.  What is freedom?  What is grace?  What is spiritual childhood?  Why is sexual difference good?  This seminar will help us understand more deeply the dignity which God has bestowed upon every man and woman.

(For those who are catechists, there will be an opportunity to focus specifically on how this understanding can be helpful in faith formation and youth ministry if asked to respond to the difficult questions.)

Fr. Andy holds a Master's of Divinity from Sacred Heart Major Seminary and a Licentiate in Sacred Theology in Marriage and Family Studies from the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family.
